If 2019 Volkswagen Arteon presents something new it is surely a new level of elegance and style, but with the manufacturer strong promising that it will not leave the distinctive design of a classic sedan with a strong engine. That is a good promise, but we can say a brave decision in the years when the market is full of the crossovers and vans for family driving and off road adventures. You do not need to wait for a new Geneva Car Show to see that Volkswagen was strongly been loyal to its recognizable style and maybe too old fashioned designed.
2019 Volkswagen Arteon Exterior
Volkswagen has not been uncovered their car from protective cover by now, but many details are already visible and known about the new 2019 Volkswagen Arteon. One of things is a lower flat hood which covers the front wheels and six horizontal lines on the front grille. Thin beveled head lights wrapped in chrome lines and the same design of the fog lights, slightly below them are maybe the only modern designed detail on the front end, pretty much the same as on the models popular in 80’s from Volkswagen. Some other details like spoiler blended into the hatch trailing edge and frameless door glass on the side of the car represent the modern design while the rear end is supported by the chubby rear bumper like we used to see on sports car before.
Nothing is for sure with Volkswagen’s cars looking from inside, but the new model cannot be so far away from its predecessors and models in the same line. The sedan is a car for comfort driving and enjoyable traveling, so we should not expect much different from that. Rumors have mentioned 9-inch touchscreen, rich infotainment systems like park assist and cruise control with leather in higher trim versions.
Although the new engine model is also unknown in 2019 Volkswagen Arteon, the basic engine solution might be TSI 2.0-liter turbocharged with 270 horsepowe. A test made in Africa showed that engine will be able to reach the speed of 185 mph, but it will more likely be around 155 mph. As the opposite of the previous models, this model will have eight-speed automatic transmission, front wheel driving system with the optional all-wheel system as well.
Many of the questions that are still not answered will be resolved on 2018 Geneva Auto Show. If you are impatient to know how much 2019 Volkswagen Arteon will cost, let us say that it will start from $30,000. We are eager to see the premiere of the new Arteon.
